How Bespoke Jewellery Is Made: Idea to Finished Piece

How Bespoke Jewellery Is Made: Idea to Finished Piece — Bespoke Pendant — Custom Made in Birmingham

A bespoke project starts with an idea and becomes a written specification before it becomes a finished piece. The exact making route depends on the design. Use the stages below to understand what to discuss with Noir Flare and where decisions need to be confirmed.

1. Explain the idea

Share the kind of piece, reference images, preferred dimensions, materials, stones, budget and deadline through Design With Noir Flare. Tell us which details carry personal meaning so they remain central to the brief.

2. Agree the specification and commercial terms

Review what is included in the quote, what remains an estimate, payment stages and the proposed timeline. Do not assume that two similar-looking designs require the same amount of work. Our custom jewellery cost guide explains how to compare the scope.

3. Review the design

Where CAD or other design previews form part of the project, check the proportions, lettering, stone positions and practical details. Ask about anything you cannot judge from the image, including thickness, weight and how the piece will be worn. Confirm revisions before approving the production specification.

4. Confirm materials and production

The making route may involve modelling, casting, fabrication, assembly or a combination of processes. Stone setting, engraving and finishing depend on the agreed design. Ask which stages apply to your piece and which changes would require a revised quote once making has started.

5. Arrange the final check and handover

Confirm the final specification, any included documentation, care advice and collection or delivery arrangements with the team. Discuss adjustments promptly rather than trying to modify the piece yourself.

Planning around a deadline

Tell us about birthdays, proposals or other important dates at the first enquiry. The completion window depends on the design, approval timing and materials. For Christmas 2026, the cut-off for engagement rings and bespoke jewellery is 1 December to target completion before Christmas; confirm the timing of your individual project before ordering.
